Meet the RMAF Board

Kirby Meyer
Dad was my best friend, and I wanted to keep his memory alive with the foundation. Growing up, he was my first coach and introduced me to my love of volleyball. I keep Dad in my life every day, and he inspires me to be the best person and student I can be. He pushed me to be the best athlete I could be and was able to put me and my brother through club sports. I miss my dad every day and want to provide other athletes with the same opportunities my dad gave me.

Rick was a great friend of mine for nearly 30 years. During that time, we worked together and played together - mostly A LOT of Volleyball! Over the years, Rick and I grew together in our passion for people, community, fatherhood and growing our respective families. Rick was a special confidant for me and I was a great benefactor of his generosity of spirit and sound advice. Rick is with me every day.

My introduction to Rick was in 1994 when my college best friend (Amy) hosted a St. Patrick’s Day party and invited Rick who she had met (and fancied) through Volleyball. The rest is history! We spent the next 25+ years together in each other’s weddings, pursuing advanced degrees, and watching each other’s kids grow up. It’s a great honor to be asked to be part of Rick’s legacy through the Rick Meyer Athletic Foundation. Rick was a great athlete and coach of youth sports and is no doubt watching down smiling as we provide needed support to young athletes in his community.
