Meet the Inaugural Rick Meyer Athletic Foundation Scholarship Recipients

The Rick Meyer Athletic Foundation is proud to announce three inaugural scholarships for the 2025-2026 club season. Two athletes from Hanover Diamond Sports were awarded the scholarship and Maia Breakey from Ballyhoo Volleyball was selected to receive the scholarship. These athletes embodied the model set by Rick and will continue to hold these during their season. We are excited to introduce to you Maia Breakey.

Maia is currently playing for the 17s National team at Ballyhoo Volleyball Club. In her junior season at South Western Senior High she broke the record for career blocks and helped the Mustangs to a third place finish in PIAA District 3 4A playoffs and to PIAA states for the first time since 2018.

"Volleyball means so much to me, and to have someone recognize my passion and work by giving so selflessly, is immeasurable. I’m so grateful to have this opportunity and will play in memory of Rick & the love he had for the game."

We are proud to recognize Maia Breakey as the inaugural Girls Volleyball Scholarship Recipient for the Rick Meyer Athletic Foundation. We wish Maia the best of luck in her upcoming club season and volleyball career.
